Traveling is an amazing avenue to generate inspiration and experience new environments. As a photographer, it's especially motivating to see new places. This was my first time in the Pacific Northwest and I will definitely be back. It's serene and yet urban. The vistas are stunning and the natural world is constantly reminding you of where you are.
Curating this session for the blog was especially difficult. Louis, Kristen and I went on a 4 hour hike as part of the session and I'm so proud and inspired by the way the images came out. Throughout the session, I knew it would be important to jump scales to tell the story in a poetic way. An image showing two hands embracing can be just as moving as a wide panorama of Rattlesnake Ridge.
